The Plaza del Obradoiro, with the main facade of the cathedral as a backdrop, is a landmark that offers a breathtaking view. In addition to its rich history and spirituality, Santiago de Compostela is a lively university town. The University of Santiago de Compostela, founded in 1495, gives the city a young and vibrant atmosphere. The Plaza de Quintana, with its lively student atmosphere, is a popular place to meet and enjoy social life.Galician gastronomy is another strong point of Santiago de Compostela. The city has a wide variety of restaurants and bars where you can taste traditional Galician dishes, such as Galician octopus, lacón con grelos (pork shoulder with turnip greens) and tarta de Santiago (Santiago cake).
