Whenever an owner hears about «SES Hospedajes», the first thing they think of is the holiday-let licence or the single registry. But it is a completely different procedure: it is the obligation to report your guests' details to the Ministerio del Interior (Spain's Ministry of the Interior), the so-called Parte de Viajeros (guest registration form). This is exactly what it requires and how minors are declared.

What exactly is the SES Hospedajes Parte de Viajeros?

The Sistema de Entrada de Viajeros (SES, the traveller entry system) is the platform hotels, tourist flats and short-stay accommodation use to send the Policía or the Guardia Civil the details of the people staying with them. If you already have a holiday-let property or manage short-term rentals, you probably know the general points from our article on the new compulsory SES Hospedajes guest register. Here we focus on the detail that raises the most questions: exactly which details are compulsory and what to do with minors.

Which details are compulsory for each guest?

For each person staying, the Parte de Viajeros requires you to collect, as a minimum:

  • Full name and surnames.
  • Identity card number, passport or other valid identity document.
  • Date of birth and nationality.
  • Check-in and check-out dates.
  • Number of people staying and, if they are travelling as a group or family, how they are related.
  • Signature of the guest who checks in (minors do not sign; see the next section).

Most property management platforms and channel managers already include a module to send these details to SES automatically; if you manage the property yourself, you can do it directly from the Ministerio del Interior's online portal.

How are minors registered?

Minors must also be recorded on the Parte de Viajeros: they cannot be left out of the register just because they are travelling with adults. In general, you declare their name, date of birth and their relationship to the adult responsible for the group, and they are not asked to sign. The exact requirements on which identity document to provide for a minor can vary with their age and the management provider you use, so if you are unsure about a specific case, the safest thing is to check with your management platform or directly with the Ministerio del Interior's online portal.

What happens if you do not comply with the register?

The guest register is a public security obligation, not just an optional administrative formality. Not declaring your guests, or declaring them incompletely, can lead to administrative fines. The exact amount depends on each case and on the public security legislation in force at the time of the breach, so it is not something to let slide out of ignorance.

How does this relate to the holiday-let licence and the single registry?

They are three separate procedures and none depends on the others:

  • SES Hospedajes (Parte de Viajeros): a security obligation to the Ministerio del Interior, done for every stay.
  • Regional holiday-let licence: your region's permit to operate as a holiday-let property. It is still compulsory; see the guide by autonomous region.
  • National Registro Único (NRUA): annulled by the Tribunal Supremo (Spain's Supreme Court) in May 2026. It is no longer compulsory. We explain it in this article.

Frequently asked questions

Is it compulsory to declare minors on SES Hospedajes?

Yes. They must be recorded on the Parte de Viajeros, including their relationship to the responsible adult, even though they do not sign the document.

Is SES Hospedajes the same as the holiday-let licence?

No. SES Hospedajes is a security obligation to the Ministerio del Interior (Parte de Viajeros); the holiday-let licence is the regional permit to operate your property. They are independent procedures.

What happens if I do not register my guests on SES Hospedajes?

It is a legal obligation and failing to meet it can lead to administrative fines. Check the exact procedure on the Ministerio del Interior's online portal or with your management platform.
